What a week in Nashville taught us about protection, partnership, and the vacation rental community
VRMA Nashville 2026 brought the vacation rental community to Music City Center from October 4 to 6 for three days of education, technology, and networking. For RentalGuardian, it also created something harder to find on a busy show floor: an opportunity to listen.
Some of our most valuable moments happened in conversations with property managers, partners, and industry peers about the challenges shaping their businesses today, from balancing guest flexibility with revenue protection to strengthening homeowner confidence and preparing for what comes next.
Those conversations reinforced something we believe. Protection is no longer just about responding when something goes wrong. Done well, it becomes part of a smarter strategy for building trust, protecting revenue, and supporting growth.
Taking the Ice: Turning Visibility Into Conversation
At Booth 807, RentalGuardian brought a hockey-inspired presence to the show floor and a simple idea to go with it: protection is a team sport. While other Inhabit teams took on their own fields of expertise, we took the ice with interactive experiences and an open invitation to talk about guest confidence, homeowner trust, and protecting revenue.
The theme added energy, but it was never the point. Property managers, customers, partners, and industry peers stopped by to share what they were seeing in their own markets: shifting guest expectations around cancellations, new questions about damage and risk, and growing pressure to give homeowners confidence in their revenue.
“The activation may have drawn people in, but the conversations were what mattered.”
Moving Protection into the Bigger Business Conversation
Our presence extended beyond the booth through two RentalGuardian-led sessions, each designed to treat protection as a business strategy rather than a standalone product conversation.
“Turning Protection into a Competitive Advantage” explored how a thoughtful protection strategy can strengthen guest trust, build owner confidence, and support growth. “JeoPARTY: Know Your Guest. Grow Your Revenue” closed out the conference with an interactive format that invited attendees to test their knowledge, compete with peers, and walk away with practical insights.
The thread connecting both sessions was simple. The most important protection conversations are not only about insurance. They are about business outcomes, including guest confidence, owner retention, revenue predictability, operational resilience, and growth.

Relationships Are Where Conference Impact Lasts
Conferences move quickly. A conversation that starts at a booth often continues after a session, over coffee, at dinner, or in a follow-up call weeks later. That is where the real value of an event like VRMA tends to live.
What we brought home was not what RentalGuardian did in Nashville. It was what we learned there. Every operator who shared a challenge, asked a hard question, or told us what is working in their market helped sharpen our understanding of where expectations are shifting and where better solutions are needed.
That is how we want to show up for this industry: knowing the business, listening to operators, building relationships for the long term, and letting those conversations inform how we innovate.
One Team. A Bigger Vacation Rental Ecosystem.
RentalGuardian’s presence was also part of a larger Inhabit story. Across the show floor, Inhabit was represented through connected booth experiences for Inhabit, RentalGuardian, Streamline, Lynnbrook, Bluetent, and a shared RevMax and iTrip presence, with the Inhabit booth serving as a central welcome point.
That structure reflected something operators already know. Vacation rental businesses do not face challenges one department at a time. A conversation about revenue quickly turns into questions about marketing, payments, operations, guest experience, risk, and protection. Bringing that expertise together let attendees start with one challenge and connect with the specialists best equipped to help with the next one.
“Operators do not experience their businesses in silos, so the companies supporting them should not think in silos either.”
The broader ecosystem also earned peer recognition in Nashville when StreamlineVRS received VRMA’s Most Innovative Product award, decided by conference voting.
Turning Conversations into Community Impact
One of the most rewarding parts of VRMA Nashville was Demos for Donations, a shared initiative across participating Inhabit teams. The idea was simple: every qualifying demo, consultation, or strategy session triggered a charitable contribution from Inhabit. Attendees were not asked to donate. Their conversation was the contribution.
The beneficiary made the effort especially fitting for Tennessee. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation, mails free, age-appropriate books to registered children from birth to age five, regardless of family income. After each qualifying conversation, attendees dropped a wooden token into a donation jar, turning the collective effort into something everyone on the show floor could see.
Whether a conversation centered on protection, software, marketing, payments, or revenue strategy, it could also help put books in the hands of young readers.
A good conversation can move a business forward. At VRMA Nashville, it could also make an impact beyond the show floor.
Five Takeaways We’re Bringing Home From Nashville
Protection deserves a seat at the strategy table. Guest trust, homeowner confidence, flexibility, risk, and revenue are increasingly connected, and protection works best when it supports all of them.
Listening is an innovation strategy. The challenges operators share show us where expectations are changing and where better solutions are needed.
Relationships remain one of this industry’s greatest strengths. Technology evolves quickly, but progress still starts with people talking honestly about the problems they are trying to solve.
Connected expertise creates greater value. Vacation rental businesses do not operate in silos, and bringing complementary expertise together leads to better conversations and better solutions.
The best industry impact extends beyond business. Demos for Donations showed how one industry gathering can create value for companies, relationships, and communities at the same time.
What challenges are you navigating in your vacation rental business? From guest protection and homeowner confidence to revenue protection and commercial insurance solutions built for short-term rentals, the RentalGuardian team is ready to talk about what comes next.
The Conversation Is Only Getting Started
VRMA Nashville was a reminder of what makes this industry special: a community built on ideas, relationships, resilience, and a willingness to learn from one another.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth 807, joined a session, played JeoPARTY, took part in Demos for Donations, or simply shared what is happening in your business. Those conversations will keep shaping how RentalGuardian supports property managers, their guests, their homeowners, and the businesses they work so hard to build.
We’ll see you down the road. Until then, let’s keep moving the industry forward together.
